Public activity

Led the struggle of the opposition to the budgets of the Netanyahu governments

Initiated tens of laws on social and economic issues, including a state health insurance law, a propsed law limiting the salaries of senior officials in public service, a lw for womens'representation iin the directories of public committees,and a law for equal rights for people with physical limitations

His appeals to the High Court of Justice led to the cancellation of special arrangements for Yeshiva students and to the cancellation of the law legalizing the TV Channel 7

Fulfilled many tasks in the kibbutz -- as secretary and chair of various committees. Worked in field crops, in industry and as educator in the high school. Still active in kibbutz affairs

Was among the initiators and leaders of the 'Geneva accords' - a proposal for a permanent Israel-Palestinian agreement worked out by teams from both parties

Active in efforts to promote a solution to the problem of the Bedouin in the Negev. Served as chair of the ministerial committee on this subject in the Barak government.
