
Dr. Greenfeld was born in Jerusalem and brought up in an ultra-orthodox home. Was a pupil of the Beit Ya'akov educational network. Received her MA in philosophy and history at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Has been active since the 1990s in
political and social affairs. In 1993 she established the 'Mifneh' institute for education for peace, tolerance and democracy in religious society. She was among the founders of the 'Religious women for the sanctity of life' movemen. She is a member of the board of directors of B'tselem and was among the signators to the Geneva accords. Dr. Greenfeld is the author of the book 'They are afraid - how the religious and ultra-religious right became the leading factor in Israel' (Yediot Aharanot/Tamar, 2001).
