A home with a free Jewish atmosphere Community homes around the world

The community homes support free Judaism and they provide the members with unique contents.

The community homes are the proof that it is possible to sustain Jewish life with no religious involvement.

The community homes arrange activities to the wide public and they carry out activities throughout the year: on weekdays, holidays and Sabbath.

In the community homes children and adults learn Hebrew, they study the history of the Jewish nation and Jewish holidays, bible, contemporary poetry and literature, etc.

The programs are designed according to the different needs of each particular place and they always integrate our unique contents, which characterize our way of life and our identity.

The community homes are divided to different age groups: children, Children of Bar/ Bat Mitzvah, the parents of the Bar/ Bat Mitzvah children, the Shomer Hatzair and college/ university students.

At the age of 11 a group of children study toward the Bar/ Bat Mitzvah ceremony

The programs includes Hebrew, bible, the week parasha (story from the bible), the Jewish nation’s history, their family history, how to celebrate the holidays and the Sabbath etc. The children study alongside their parents. They learn about the current state of Israel and at the end of the year they celebrate the Bar/ Bat Mitzvah with their expanded family.

All the members of the community home celebrate the holidays together according to the free tradition and every household is entitled to bring its own traditional customs. The community home celebrates Rosh Hashanah, Kippur, Sukkoth, Hanukah, Tu Bishvat, Purim, Passover and Shavuot. The community homes also mark the Israeli/Jewish national days as the Memorial Day for the holocaust, the Memorial Day for the IDF (Israel Defense Force) soldiers, and the Israeli Independence Day.

The community home arranges free Jewish weddings.

The community homes publish a newspaper in their languages:

USA- “’Israel horizons”- for the English speakers
